Launched in 2018, Early Learning Matters Week was quickly embraced by parliamentarians and early learning services alike.
In both 2018 and 2019, Early Learning Matters Week featured visits by more than 50 federal parliamentarians to early learning services in metropolitan and regional locations. Early learning services signed up in large numbers to host visits, and were also very active on social media, promoting the importance of their work to families and the broader community.
In a year full of challenges and uncertainty, Early Learning Matters Week 2020 shined a light on the educators and early childhood professionals who support children to become confident and enthusiastic learners. The celebrations mainly took place online. Services were encouraged to share photos and videos of high-quality education and care on social media and the Early Learning Matters website.
